Machine Learning Engineer - Leeds

Want to work for a company that doesn’t just use the tried and tested tools because that’s how it’s always been done?

A place where you’ll learn new stuff whilst working on exciting Machine Learning projects?

Somewhere you’ll be listened to?

Working here, you’ll be given time to research new approaches and work across multiple industries and a diverse range of projects.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the project, from initial scoping to final delivery, including:

  • Advising on client projects

    • You’d join calls with clients who have initial ideas for data or AI projects. You’ll advise on the feasibility and potential approaches to solve their problems.

  • Researching and developing solutions

    • Researching possible approaches, conducting feasibility analysis, and developing models or prototypes

  • Delivering production-ready solutions

    • Delivering the final production-ready solution to the client

Who you’ll be doing it for

A technology consultancy that specialises in engineering, data, AI, and cloud services.

They work across several different industries.

They encourage their teams to be innovative and explore new techniques, rather than just sticking to a standard set of tools.

They place a strong emphasis on personal excellence and having a high standard of work.

There is a collaborative, "single team" culture where knowledge sharing and mutual learning are encouraged.

The team you’ll be joining

Their consulting department.

You’ll work alongside a Principal Software Consultant and a Business Analyst.

You’ll report into the Head of Consulting.

You’ll also get to work closely with the Managing Director.

The tools you’ll be using

The company is predominantly a .NET and Azure-focused company so you may use Azure-based tools and services.

However, the tools used will depend on the client's existing technology stack.

For example, if a client of theirs has their data in Snowflake, the data scientist will use Snowflake-related tools.

They’re open to using the best tool for the job, regardless of the client's or the company’s preferred technologies.

This could include tools like AWS, Python, etc.

The main emphasis is on using the right tools for the specific project and client needs.
